Two years ago today I got married to someone who has seen me go through the hardest of times and helped me out of them.

I will let an extract of Clipped Wings from the acknowledgements explain…

“Without the support of my husband, I wouldn’t be where I am today and even though he would not want this recognition, I feel it is important to mention him. The support he gave me after an abusive relationship, at what was undoubtedly the most vital time that I needed someone by my side. A friend at the time I most needed one, who held my hair whilst I was being sick, who cared for me, and held me up when I couldn’t. To his love and care years later when he still listens to me and takes my worries away.
A love I thought I would never find.
For this, my love, I write to you;

LEARNING TO LOVE AGAIN

I never thought that I would find,
Someone who loves me back and is always kind,
For I was lost and you found me,
You broke me free from what bound me,
You helped me learn to love again,
To trust and open up and have no shame,
You’re my hero and knight,
And now I want you to know that you don’t need to fight,
You don’t need to hold me up when I feel so much pain,
Because now we hold each other’s hands and through this turmoil we have gained,
A love that is so strong, unbreakable and pure,
One that can stand tall and be united to endure,
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
And thank you for showing me that I could have a new start.”

I want to share with you our wedding highlights, everyone was moved by the love in the church as we made our vows. I never thought that I would feel that happiness and originally I had felt like I would never marry, to change my mind wasn’t easy. If you haven’t read my Huffington Post article on Domestic Abuse: Learning to Love and Trust Again then do click through and read it because it takes you through those steps, and also my article on Marriage: The Rings of the Love? which shows how I fell in love again.

Please join in celebrating virtually with me that love can shine through even the darkest of times.

Rob I still feel the same way I did when we started to date, when I made those vows on our wedding day, when we get through all the challenges we face.

Happy 2nd Wedding Anniversary.

You can read Clipped Wings on paperback and kindle, its OUT NOW!

You can also read the Fox Stories which is non-fiction and about the signs, the laugh and the love we have experienced.
