April has been one heck of a month, to summarise it is going to be difficult as there has been so much that has happened and I am excited for my steps forward in the future. Here it goes…
I started the month with my first WHSmith appearance and this was something that I was nervous but excited about. I had some fantastic conversations and it helped ground me as an author.
I shared my never before seen content of my work in progress, something I have kept to myself for months. It’s only available to those on Drip, you can check out my extra content on Drip and become a member here.
I can’t believe this has taken me so long to post a video of my debut novel Isolation Junction. Find out more about Isolation Junction, why I wrote it and my dedication at the very end (I held the tears back just about).

I blogged a lot but one of the posts was about Stella and friends event which is coming to Hull in June. Find out more about the event here.
I was thrilled to have been chosen as a WOW winner for Jacqueline Gold’s weekly competition which is on Twitter.
About #WOW: Initially set up to recognise the achievements of, and support, women starting their own businesses through the #WOW twitter competition, the growth and needs of the network has led Jacqueline to develop the WOW offering. With a clear objective to use WOW to give a voice to women who work, empower these women and to celebrate their successes, Jacqueline’s vision is that together women across the UK can truly influence and achieve change that allows all women who want to, the opportunity to work.
The #WOW campaign is very much about celebrating women in business and the ever growing number of women who are starting their own business.
Over the Easter weekend an article went live in the Hull Daily Mail newspaper. The article talks about my experience as well as how things have changed for me in link with the event I am speaking with in June. You can read the article online here.
Later that day a few people got in touch with me and I found out that the article that went live in Hull Daily Mail went into the national press on the digital platforms, Daily Mail, The Mirror, The Sun and more. It certainly meant I had an influx of messages and emails. This is my first appearance in the national press. You can check out my press links here.
I was delighted to be asked down to Brixham which is in Devon for the Rock Pool associates day. I spent the day learning a bit more about Rock Pool and how they run their training programmes as well as enjoying in some fantastic company. It was great to put real people to Twitter profile icons. If you haven’t heard about Rock Pool before and where I fit in (so to speak) be sure to watch this video which uncovers my thoughts about their life changing recovery programmes.
WOW, I have to admit that I achieved this with the last 500 words I needed to do on the train ride to London just yesterday. I now have my children’s book draft and cannot wait to go through and edit, edit again and then send to my editor. This is going to be something I will certainly be proud of because it still has domestic abuse in mind, don’t worry though it’s not what you think. Hopefully all will be revealed in good time.
What a month, I don’t think I can top that just yet. BUT I want too.
