I cannot believe it is the end of December already and we will shortly be saying goodbye to 2017 and hello to 2018. I have just looked back at December thinking I hadn’t done too much but I have a lot to wrap up for you and I am surprised at how much has happened.
On the 1st December it was confirmed that I became admin of a Goodreads group ‘Mental Health Bookclub Group’ which I was delighted to take on the role and am sure I will learn a lot from many book recommendations in the future. You can join the group yourself here.
Bookies featured me on their share the love Saturday feature and did a Facebook live including Isolation Junction and Clipped Wings within it, Jessica did a fantastic job and is a huge support. You can find out more about Bookies and the feature here.
I also went live on Facebook in my second annual online pop up book shop, this year was so much fun and many more authors were involved as well as returning authors. There was over 10 giveaways meaning that next year you should definitely get involved. Find out more about this years event here.
I got to meet this lovely man today who has spoken to me for over a year and supports my work and what I do. Thank you Beat for inviting me along. I had no idea I was going to meet a group of people bidding for Stoke 2021 Capital of Culture… and how enthusiastic they were to find out about how it’s changed Hull and more about our city. Find out more about our meeting here.
I was delighted to be involved with Helen Pryke’s cover reveal for The Healer’s Secret. Helen is featured in Clipped Wings and I love to support her own work as she does with mine. My cover reveal for Helen featured an exclusive interview with her.

99p for a week, It’s the first time I reduced Clipped Wings on Amazon Kindle and for many reasons. The message of this book is one of courage, as with courage comes awareness and an ability to understand what has happened to you and take the steps needed to become a survivor yourself.
Bringing the price down brought Clipped Wings up in the charts to number 3, it hasn’t left the top 100 since the release in October of this year.
This has made my day. On the 20th December I received funding to go onto a Happiness Retreat by The Happiness Club. I am looking forward to it because I believe it will help me to support many victims and survivors in a different way. I have known Jo for years and I am delighted to be attending this. Thank you BizMums.
Absolutely thrilled to be included in Jessica’s Top 10 for 2017. Clipped Wings came in 9th position and I was delighted to be alongside authors I am connected with and B.A.Paris who I do admire and yet to read of her work after many recommendations. Find out all those in the top 10 here.
I was delighted to follow on from the Top 10 of Jessica’s reads for 2017 with a relaxed interview in a conversation style, find out how my work has developed and how we have made friends through working together in the world of books here.
Find out why books about domestic abuse is so important in my article for Decembers edition of CCChat Magazine.
A guest post on Emma-Louise’s blog looking at domestic abuse at Christmas time and bringing awareness to it, perhaps a time you wouldn’t necessarily think of victims. Read my own experiences, statistics and more on this guest post here.
WOW, What a busy month for December. I know I left wrapping until last minute and now I know why. A fantastic send off to 2017 and I am looking forward to 2018. In fact there are so many plans and I have just opened up my Street Team, if you want to join in with this then this is where you need to go: JENNIFER GILMOURS STREET TEAM.
