Last month I said I didn’t think my load would lighten and I was certainly correct, May was even busier.

The month began with the arrival of Clipped Wings arriving on my door with the NEW edit which includes the Pict Publishing mark, something I was delighted to receive this and the next part of my journey. Pict Publishing has supported me and since joining them I have so many possibilities.

I was thrilled to be invited to take part in Derwent Valley Literacy Festival and I hope to see you on the 23rd June. I am also taking part in the online part of their festival on the 19th June so if you are farther a field you can still enjoy the festival virtually.

I also booked another event in Liverpool for July. I decided to sum up how I felt and my goals in a blog post. Sometimes you can loose sight of what the ‘job’ and forget the steps you have taken to get to that point, I am not there yet but I am overwhelmed to have come this far.

My YouTube channel opened! That was exciting as it allows me to communicate better for feelings, emotions and my message.

I was invited to take part in the #BraveMe campaign by Christine Clayfield and my story went into how I have recovered and now in a happy place post domestic abuse.

The May edition of CCChat Magazine came out and I spoke in my column about what I am reading and also about the upcoming #AbuseTalk forum opening.

I can’t believe it! I won the most informative blog award in the Blogger Bash Awards, I was so surprised and shocked! Find out all about how I felt and more about the award on this celebratory blog post.

I received quite a few messages but this one was one I could share and really makes what I do worth while. I originally set my goal as helping just 1 person which in fact happened before I published my first book Isolation Junction. I can’t count how many people I have helped now but I can’t stop because the need is clearly there.

This was a HUGE moment for me – the opening of the forum! I didn’t know how it was going to go but I was so excited to have some amazing sponsors behind me and backing me all of the way. I am glad to say that within the first week it has been a success, I have signposted five people for support as well as others gaining support from the forum. The ‘Ask a solicitor’ thread is proving popular and a feature that I think is worth joining the forum for, my personal experience of finding answers is that you need money up front BUT this is FREE!
