October, what a month! I have to admit October has had its high’s and its low’s but I know what I am able to get through anything with this month putting me through its pace’s in my personal life. I am hoping November will be a little calmer as I have so much I would like to do in terms of my writing.

So here it is, October’s wrap up.

The month began with the first ever #AbuseTalk Twitter Chat which I decided to bring to life in September. Anyone can join in with the discussion and each week has a different theme or point of discussion. Find how a Twitter Chat works on my dedicated blog post for the new venture here.

I attended the BizMum Conference & Awards 2017 as a finalist for the Inspirational Mum Award and I have to say what a lovely day it was. I felt honoured to be a finalist when I heard exactly why each BizMum was nominated for the award. I didn’t take home the award but I went as an advocate for women in abusive relationships and this opportunity brought awareness to the unacceptable behaviour. I am proud to be a finalist and its a huge achievement for my journey. Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far and continues to do so.

I have also connected with a very supportive and all round lovely author, Helen Pryke. Helen also write’s about domestic abuse and I had managed to read her free short story Autumn Sky which is available on Amazon Kindle. I announced her involvement with the upcoming release of Clipped Wings. You can find out my thoughts on her work and more here.

16th October brought the cover reveal of Clipped Wings, 2 weeks before publication. I was very excited for this because I am completely in love with my cover that was born through my idea’s and my designer’s talent. Six bloggers got involved to reveal the cover alongside me, you can see how everyone joined in here.

I am delighted to be a monthly columnist for CCChat Magazine, this is a digital magazine that gives a better understanding around coercive control. #AbuseTalk is featured in this edition as well as the new online book club, you can read it for yourself here. I do plan to put the editions of the magazine on to my website, watch this space.

My next Huffington Blog Post article was published with something I was keen to address and included the 12 signs of domestic abuse within this article. I believe many will relate to this article, you can read it here.

I was delighted to be involved in my first Authorber Fest on the 26th, I basically took over Bookie’s Facebook Page which is especially for readers. I had so much fun and quite a lot of engagement which I was delighted with. I hope to be considered to be involved next year.

Publication Day finally arrived on the 30th October and what a busy day it was. I was so delighted with how everything went as just a few weeks ago I was unsure if I was going to make it to publication day. I am delighted with how the online launch went as well as the opening of the blog tour for the occasion. I will be putting a launch week post together so I am not going to give away too much here. I am also thrilled that Clipped Wings went up to 3 in the kindle charts. Check out the blog tour right now until the 5th November here.
