In life, we face decisions on a daily basis. Of course, most of these decisions are relatively minor and inconsequential. They might include things like what you eat for breakfast, whether you walk to the store or drive or what outfit to wear on a night out. They’re decisions that we make without too much thought, hesitation or consultation. But every now and then, bigger decisions will come along. We may find ourselves struggling with these a little more. But the good news is that we have some tips and tricks that can help you along the way!

I have had to make decisions that have made a huge difference in my life, in fact some I didn’t think I would ever have to face. The most obvious one is finally leaving that abusive relationship I was in, I feared the worst and didn’t know what would come of me, now I am happily married and aware of how it impacted my life. It took me many attempts leaving before finally getting to that point of not going back.

Now decisions can be hard for me to make because I was controlled to the point of being unable to make decisions for myself. I do find it difficult at times, especially if I am not focussed. I certainly need to work on this area of my life.

I hope this collaborative post helps you.

Know What You Want

If your decision impacts your life or lifestyle, it’s important to know what you want in life and whether following the path being offered to you will help you reach your ultimate goal. Sure, diversions are fine and you may change your mind as time goes on. But knowing what you want will often make decision making easier.

Consider Your Own Happiness

First and foremost, you need to take your own happiness and what you want into account when making decisions. So many people will make decisions based around others’ wants and needs without ever questioning what they want themselves and what’s best for them. You can’t let your whole life revolve around keeping others happy and being convenient. Instead, weigh up how your decision will impact you and whether it’s worth carrying out or not.

Consider Others’ Happiness

Of course, if you have dependents, you will have to take their happiness and wellbeing into account too. You’ll need to find something that works for everyone. Whether you have kids, pets or elderly or sick loved ones who need your support, you will have to weigh up their needs in regards to major decisions you make.

Seek Advice

Of course, many of us feel more confident in making big decisions if we have advice from others. So, seek advice and see what others have to say. Remember, their word isn’t necessarily gospel. Instead, it can simply help you to see things from different perspectives, consider things you might not have considered yourself and more. There are countless sources of support out there. You could consult family and friends. You could take to online forums. You could even speak with a psychic at https://www.psychicsofa.com/.

I personally look for advice in different ways and feel I know myself more now than I did before, do you feel you know yourself?

Weigh Up the Pros and Cons

Often, decisions are difficult because they come with both pros and cons. It’s a good idea to create a list of both. This way, you can weigh up the pros and the cons of any decision you may need to make. Write a list with pros and cons. See which outweighs the other.

Something I have done many times before and it really does help me gain clarity.

Trust Your Instinct

You can’t mull over a decision forever. You’ll have to make a decision at some point. So, just go with your gut instinct if you find yourself taking too long.

These are just a few suggestions that could help you along the way. Different people have different processes. But hopefully, some of the above information can guide you in the right direction!
