On the 4th October 8-9pm GMT the first #AbuseTalk will open on Twitter as a Twitter Chat. I am delighted to be hosting it and felt the need for there to be a dedicated time to discuss domestic abuse.
What is a Twitter chat?
“A Twitter chat is a public Twitter conversation around one unique hashtag. This hashtag allows you to follow the discussion and participate in it. Twitter chats are usually recurring and on specific topics to regularly connect people with these interests.” Find out more on this easy step guide.
Who can get involved?
Anyone can get involved, all you have to do is sign into Twitter on the dedicated time and tweet with the #AbuseTalk. The account @AbuseChat will retweet and be involved in the conversation. If you have any articles, blog posts, thoughts, feelings on domestic abuse then this is a space were you can express it.

Already we have authors, organisations, charities, businesses, individuals and experts involved. Please do go on and RT the advert post to build awareness for the opening.
It will then then continue to take place weekly on a Wednesday evening 8-9pm GMT and I hope in the future to bring guest hosts and also theme points of conversation. Pop it in your diary and do get in touch if you would like anymore information on the all new Twitter chat.
I look forward to joining you live and virtual on the 4th October. You can follow me on Twitter at @JenLGilmour as well.
Don’t miss out on any of my blog posts by following my blog, see the right hand column.

This sounds really interesting. I may have to take part. Thanks for sharing such an Important topic:)
I hope you can join in. Thank you.
What a great idea and a good way of getting the topic talked about. Hope it goes well.
Thank you. It certainly needs a lot of constant discussion.
Hope it goes well and what a fantastic idea to get things out in the open more.
Thank you for your kind words.
Jenifer your first book is amazing. Although as a survivor of domestic abuse, it was hard for me to read at times, because it was scarily so close to home. I survived, and every one in this position can too. I know how difficult it is, the shame you feel and embarrassment. The first step is admitting the abuse to yourself. Then you have to find the courage and the confidence to speak out. This book has left me wanting more. I want to support you in your determination to bring this topic to the attention of everyone. To talk about abusive behaviour and educate people in relationships. About what should be the dynamics of a healthy relationship and bring an end to abuse.
Thank you so much Tracey for sharing this and for your support. It means a lot and it’s nice to have people that are able to join me, together we are louder. Jen x
