So delighted to be on The Recovery Toolkit Blog Tour as one of the stops today. I am hoping you know already that The Recovery Toolkit has completely changed my life. My review gives testimony to this and of course I was a part of the book in a small way, I provided the anecdotes for the book.
This week theres a giveaway to win a signed paperback copy, its also up for grabs on Kindle for just 99p and bloggers are sharing their thoughts on the book.

Have you left an abusive relationship?
Are you still carrying guilt?
Would you like to understand, challenge and remove the voice of the perpetrator?
Do you still think what happened to you was your fault?
Do you find dealing with new people in your life something to be scared about?
If you’ve answered ‘yes’ to the above questions you are not alone.
Many people who leave an abusive relationship behind are affected by that former relationship in many different ways. Perhaps you feel guilty when making decisions on your own? You may worry about what motivates others to befriend you? Maybe your children are having to re-learn who it is that’s the adult in the room now that your ex-partner has gone from their lives.
If this all sounds familiar then The Recovery Toolkit is the book for you. Written in an easy and accessible style, the book will take you on a journey that is part discovery, part guide.
My Review
Finally, thanks to this programme, I can see clearly. I can understand what has happened to me and how to work to overcome the negative aspects. I’m starting to feel better about myself, I’m already changing. I’m excited for my future and comfortable with the fact that I’m able to handle any future encounters with my abusive ex-partner.
Questions arose such as why have I just been educated? Why am I now equipped? Why am I now on the road to recovery?
I had come to understand that many people are subjected to the same patterns of behaviour and that no one knows beforehand that a relationship can be so unhealthy and soul destroying.
I had this urge to want to bring awareness to others about of the form of abuse that I had suffered. I realised that others simply need to know more about this unacceptable behaviour; they too need to be able to see the warning signs before the relationship develops and/or this unacceptable behaviour gets even more serious.
If someone is in a relationship and the behaviour of their partner is abusive they need to understand that the abuse they encounter is not their own fault. They also need to understand that their partner’s behaviour can’t simply be changed by changing themselves.
I decided in that moment that I was going to write my first book and help educate through a form of entertainment, with no jargon and no leaflet, just a journey with the main character. The programme has completely changed my life and I wouldn’t be where I am now, with my positive mindset, health and the awareness I bring.
Completing this programme was a huge achievement for me. I was proud of myself and at the time I didn’t tell the world and I only shared it with those close to me. If this was available to all who had experienced domestic abuse it would free a lot of weight from their shoulders. It would also help prevent others going into another abusive relationship.
Take the time to invest in yourself with this 12 week programme. I still use the tools that were created during this programme to this day.
Thank you Sue, your work has changed my life (as I keep saying). It will never be forgotten, the key to freedom in my mind.
