Hi guys. In light of recent events I want to talk to you about the ways people are affected by bullying. As a victim of not only emotional abuse, but also online bullying I know what it’s like to want to make all the pain go away.
Being bullied and abused takes a toll on a person physically and mentally. It wears them down until they feel they have nothing left. In most cases, it sadly ends with the person doing the unthinkable and taking their own lives.
As an advocate for bullying, abuse, and domestic violence I don’t tolerate people who only want to hurt others. I have distanced myself from my ex-best friend of 28 years because of the emotional abuse she put me through.
As a writer I have been able to deal with the effects of bullying through my stories and poetry.
This poem won first place in a writing contest and came about from the abuse caused by that friend.
“Where You’ll Be”
You don’t see,
what she’s really like.
When you least expect it,
is when she’ll strike.
She’ll reach in,
wrap her cold fingers around your heart.
When you begin to trust her,
that’s when her torture starts.
Everything good in you,
slowly fades away.
She uses and abuses you,
day after day.
Moving on to her next victim,
wait and see.
In pieces crumpled on the floor,
that’s where you’ll be.
So, what I want to say to you is don’t let anyone bully or abuse you, and please don’t hurt others.
I have a Facebook page called Please Help Prevent Child Abuse, Domestic Violence, and Bullying. And you can find some of my writing on my blog Cassandra’s Writing World.

Thank you for that lovely poem.
Bullying occurs in many forms…. teaching too!
And it is not nice!
But hey i have moved on.
Thank you for sharing Sue. I am sure Cassandra will be able to help you with this. I have been bullied – back when I was in school – I feel for those who put me through everything they did. Jennifer. x
You’re welcome. I am just glad my experience with bullying has helped me help others through my writing.
A wonderful poem, and it’s good to see more and more people standing up to all forms of bullying and abuse. x
This poem is so accurate. Thank you for sharing x
Great poem! I was bullied, not just at school but as an adult too, it came as a shock that adults still expressed the playground behaviour I was told they would ‘grow out of’! Especially at work.
When I was in high school, there were two bullies. They were horrible girls who thought they were just too good for this world. Then, years later, a school reunion for us all in our early 50”s. Both these two women came up to me, so friendly, with smiles (genuine) and giggles and laughter. I wonder what life had thrown their way to make them appear so lovely. Like two teenagers. The years melted away and, although we did not talk about school, we were at last on equal terms as possible new friends.
Sometimes, people do change, and for the better.
Hi Sandy, thank you for sharing. I suspect this isn’t unusual. Someone who used to bully me now supports what I do here and I would have never of thought it, just like yourself. Glad to hear you’ve found friendship with them. Jennifer
